All the SINGLE LADIES! Now, put your hands up!

©2016 TheAnonymousWritersNotebook

Yes! Oh yes. Why are some women SINGLE? What are the possible reasons why these women are having a hard time finding the perfect guy to love them, support them and be with them forever? Or are they really looking for one?

There are thousands of reasons why we see SINGLE women everywhere.

And these are some..

(c) Dan Tan

Women are sometimes workaholic, or should I say most of the time? GUILTY! Yes, I sleep at 4 in the morning and I wake up at 10 or 11am.. I go out with friends on Fridays or Saturdays — WITH MY LAPTOP. Yes, with my laptop on the table with a couple of beer or a cup of coffee. But men usually get intimidated when they see workaholic women. And they sometimes think that women have the power to overrule than to be submissive. They care more about their job than to think of what to wear on a date. Regardless of, women still have their own way of showing that they care for men and at the same time, they still have this touch which proves that they still value their worth as women. So — You are single because you do not give yourself time to love and be loved.

Who would’ve thought that the perfect guy does exist. Doesn’t he? This has been one of the main reasons why some women that we meet everyday are still single. Some of them are looking for the perfect guy. But hey! There aren’t any. You might meet someone who is totally handsome and has the best attitude amongst all the men you’ve met in the past but has a bad reputation when it comes to dealing with his family. You might meet someone who respects his mother, sister, cousins, your siblings, your mother, your best friend and all the women in the world but is shorter than you. You might bumped into someone who has the “tall, dark and handsome” features which you’ve been searching for, for a long time, but is dying of cancer. See, nobody is perfect! There are many reasons to see the perfection in someone as long as you accept his flaws. We all deserve to have a perfect partner for us to be able to have a perfect relationship. But we must not find the perfect person because it doesn’t really exist. We can only have a perfect relationship if we learn to accept them for who they are. Well at least that might be possible. So — You are single because you are still looking for that perfect guy that you want to spend with for the rest of your life.

Men are sometimes adventurous. But some women are more dauntless than men. They are the ones who would sign up FIRST, to try bungee jumping, wobbly roller coasters and other risk taking rides. I wonder why SOME men are sometimes even more afraid than these ladies. (Sshh, believe me. I met a lot.) Whatever way you may seem to have in living your life to the fullest – SOME MEN, are still sometimes afraid of taking risks. LITERALLY, taking the risk of loving a lady like you. So — You are single because you do not give others the chance to know the other side of you. Goes to show that you are a perfect epitome of “no boyfriend, no problem” type of woman.

I LOVE YOU… Thank you, I love myself too.

Oh how you love yourself so much that you do not want yourself to get hurt. So you’d rather choose to stay single than to be in a relationship. So what you do is you try to be happy, going out with your so-called best friends and hang out with your guy friends because you are always one of the boys. You enjoy having a cup of coffee at a coffee shop near you reading books while your best friend enjoys meeting men at a party every Friday. You luxuriate in having more time at your fave beach in town. You relish being a couch potato than to go out on a date. But you are not getting any younger. And at the end of the day, at the end of every night life, at the end of each chitchat day with a friend, you still sleep alone… Oh yeah. With your fluffy dog on the floor. Hence, you drive yourself home and sleep, and repeat. Same old routine and you enjoy FREEDOM to the nth power! So — You are single because you are a very independent person that others think you are already happy being on your own.

And being a girl friend or a wife of someone is not one of them. You enjoy taking your nephews and nieces at the mall on Sundays and you do not see yourself being a mother yourself. You would rather drive your mom at the nearest grocery store and shop on a Friday noon than to sit at the passenger’s seat of your boyfriend’s hot wheels. You would rather walk your dogs at the park while keeping your body fit. And even if you meet someone who might get interested in you while you are at the gym, you still do not make them one your top priorities. Odd but true. So — You are single because you do not include a partner as one of your top priorities.

A sagacious woman can handle any situation on her own. More and more women are becoming more educated, smarter, classier and independent while SOME men are becoming shoddy. I repeat — SOME men.. not all.. It can also be one of the reasons why you are not in a relationship. You sometimes tend to find someone who can catch up with your personality. Someone who matches your character and you can’t even try to be at least someone men can neutralize. You make them feel like you are someone they always have to look up to. Sometimes, we also need to act like a cowgirl. Try not to be scared of being simple. So — You are single because you are too smart to handle. Not your fault anyway.

Our standard is something that we value because we know our worth. However, sticking to that may result to not being able to find the person we are looking for. We may, at one point in time, but he might already be in a relationship, or he’s gay, or he’s a single dad. Still, not the person ton your bucket list. And because of this, you sometimes act like as if there are so many men in the world and there’s this one guy who is meant for you. YES! But remember, it may take too long before you meet that guy OR, you have already met him but you missed the bus. (wink) So — You are single because you are not ready to date someone who is not on the same level as you are.

Some women are afraid of entering a new relationship because of how the previous one hurt her. BUT – men are all different. Nevertheless, we cannot blame them for being like that. Sometimes, they aren’t just ready for a new attachment. Give them time. So — You are single because you are still moving on. Or have you moved on? Well, that’s at least what you tell your friends.

Love can be lethal. It can cause you to death. That is why there are these beautiful women who are still single. They actually have their own reasons why. And just like what I mentioned, there are thousands of reasons. And these are just some. But then again, Love can also save us. Choice is ours.

DISCLAIMER: I posted this because I have met several women asking me why they are still single. And men asking me why I am single.

Please don’t tell me I can’t. Please don’t tell me I will never ever make it again. Please do not put me down. You have no idea how difficult it is to be in this situation. If only I could, I would.

Have you traveled anywhere exciting lately?

BATANES is one of most fascinating places in the Philippines. It’s beautiful sceneries and kind people catch the eyes of the globetrotters. But not all travelers think they can afford to go to Batanes. Here’s one of the most wonderful vacation these two have ever experienced. I included their DIY IT for those who would like to go to Batanes!

Airlines such as PAL and Skyjet fly from Manila to Batanes. As far as I know Skyjet flies on weekdays and weekends except for TUESDAY. They only have flights in the morning. The plane leaves at an exact time (6:45am). Don’t be late. The plane arrives after an hour and 15 minutes. Batanes airfare can go as high as PHP10,000 one way but sometimes, you can score cheap tix whenever there are promos available or seat sale. Unlike in Boracay, there is 2go available or passenger boat that would take 10 hours. In Batanes there isn’t any available.

Arriving at the airport, you will have to pay P300 for the environmental fee in Basco. You will be given a map and a ticket, Make sure to keep it,, you will use it later on.

16996302_294805684256125_5051599967308769081_n (1)_Snapseed.jpg

Hotels and homestay abound in Basco. They stayed at Nanay Cita’s Homestay which is just a few minutes away from the airport. Just take a tricycle and pay for P30.00 to reach Nanay Cita’s. There are 5 available rooms. They suggest you rent the one on the rooftop. (Photo available here) All of the rooms are air-conditioned, but since it is very cold in Batanes, you can just tell Nanay that you will only use a fan. (3N4D, they only paid for 2100 for two.) It has it’s own restroom/bathroom and you are allowed to cook. She has a kubo where you can enjoy the relaxing view while having coffee or lunch. Since they arrived at 8ish, she prepared a free breakfast (egg, sinangag and tapa plus coffee).

The two took a rest the morning they arrived and had their North Batan Tour after lunch. Nanay Cita will provide you a tricycle driver who will take you to your tour.

North Batan Tour – P1,000 (Don’t ask, you will understand when you get to experience it.)

Valugan Boulder Beach (They didn’t swim LOL, mashadong mabato po). You will see different sizes of pebbles in layers.

People in Batanes believe that if you make one yourself that day you visit Valugan Boulder Beach and it is still there the moment you get to come back, your wish will come true. (fingers crossed)

Dipnaysupuan Japanese Tunnel – show your ticket. (the one that you paid upon arriving at the airport)

Fundacion Pacita – they say, this is the most pricey hotel in Batanes where most actors stay. (Approx 8-12,000 per night.) They will allow you to take photos and take a tour inside if there aren’t any tourists. But if there are, you are only allowed to take photos outside, and the garden. There are food and drinks available too.

The famous Dios Mamajes

Cafe de Tukon – famous for their tea. A must try!

Pagasa Weather Station

Tukon Church or the famous Mt. Carmel Chapel – Their churches are really awesome, old and new.

16998814_294835347586492_3431247332297449021_n (1).jpg

Vayang Rolling Hills – breathtaking.

Chadpidan Boulder Beach – sister of Valugan

Naidi Hills / Basco Lighthouse – wear flats or sneakers, you wouldn’t want to have your feet numb and heavy with fatigue.

Basco Proper

END OF DAY 1 – their moms cooked and prepared adobo and tocino on their first day. There aren’t any resto close to Nanay Cita’s. So it’s either you cook or take time to find a resto. They said it’s really tiring! You’d rather stay at home after a long trip.

They were scheduled to have their Sabtang Island tour the next morning, unfortunately, it rained. So they decided to just have the South Batan Tour instead and wished for a sunny third day for their Sabtang tour.

South Batan Tour – P1,500 (Again, don’t ask, you will understand when you get to experience it.) They both decided to take the tour at 12:00pm hoping that the sun will appear after lunch and voila! It did. Thank God.)

Chawa View Deck

Tayid lighthouse

Racuh a Payaman (The famous Marlboro Country) – Manong told them, that a few decades back, an American came to visit Batanes and said that, Racuh a payaman looks like the famous Marlboro country so he named it after it.

Imnajbu Beach (It rained a little so they were not able to enjoy the view for a long time)

Ruins at Sitio Songsong

Honesty Coffee Shop – unfortunately, the owner wasn’t there when they visited. They were not able to take photos with them.

House of Dakay – Yay for the son of Dakay whom they met personally on their trip.

The old Spanish Bridge

Homoron Blue Lagoon and White Beach – Talking about aqua blue? See it to believe it.

Diura Fishing Vilage

16998058_294827064253987_5961860913040725670_n17021592_294819454254748_5919287217972374755_n16998198_294827584253935_1652945356170300581_nMahatao Boat Shelter Port – This serves as a shelter to vessels bound for Itbayat and other boats during inclement weather.

San Carlos Borromeo Church – the first stone-made church in Mahatao, which has its small souvenir shop and the famous Batanes Blank book archive which holds hundreds of hardbound books with blank pages. You can pick any number of a book and you can write anything there. (BTW, you will have to pay P100 upon entering)

END OF DAY 2. – They had to get back home before dinner so they can take a rest and tuck themselves in bed early for their 5:15 am tour in Sabtang. Received a message from Kuya Jun Castillo (everybody knows him) informing them of the tryc number who will take them on their last tour.

You will have to get dressed as early as 5:15 in the morning. Nanay Cita will wake you up and will call you once the jeepney arrives. Make sure to bring BAON (water, crackers, juice or whatever)

Sabtang Island Tour – P1000. You will pay P54.00 back and forth. There is only one jeepney available. So the one who will drive you to the port is the one who will be there after your tour. You will be asked to register your name. Do not forget the number of bags you’re taking with you.

Here we go! The water between Sabtang and Batan is known to be rough, tough and frightening. They dare you to try it. (Take 1 bonamin before riding aboard the Faluwa/Falowa boat. A 30-minute boat ride to the unforgettable island.

Arriving at the port, One shouted Kuya Jun’s name and he was there waiting for them, guiding us to our tryc driver kuya Eugene. The tryc in Sabtang is different from the usual ones that we get to see in Manila. Theirs is made of wood.

You will then have to go to the Tourism office and will be asked to pay P200 for the environmental fee.

Sabtang Church

Savidug Village – this is where you can see a lot of stone-made houses built in a small barrio. Where people live by means of farming, fishing and alike.

St. Thomas Aquinas chapel and old Beaterio. (PS: they have a restroom)

Chamantad Cove and Tinyan Viewpoint – where you can rent a complete outfit of Talugong, kanayi, basket and Vakul for P25.00 and take as many photos as you like. There are some small souvenir shops as well, which sell drinks and snacks too. They bought buko and ate pansit bihon packed in a some kinda leaf.

Chavayan Village /Chavayan Chapel – The first Nipa hut on the right is where you can find some traditional Ivatan costumes and headdresses being sold. You will meet Nanay, who will teach you how to make a Vakul.

Morong Beach, Mahayaw Arch and Nakabuang Cave – the driver will take you here right after a long day. PREPARE P300 for your lunch. I think that is where they really take the tourists.

Sabtang Lighthouse

Conscience Cafe and Souvenir shop – this was their last stop for this tour. Where they bought some bukayo and waited for the 1 pm boat ride back to Basco.

Some people stay here overnight. (You can stay at a homestay next to Sabtang Lighthouse. If I am not mistaken, you will have to prepare P300 for an overnight stay.) They chose to have a day trip instead since their flight back to Manila the ff day was early. Make sure to be at the port before 1 pm or you will have to stay overnight. That is the only schedule going back to Basco.

Manong jeepney (The same jeepney driver that morning) will be waiting for you and will drop you off at Nanay Cita’s.

They arrived at 2 pm and decided to take a nap since they woke up early that day. At 4 pm they walked to a store a few blocks away from Petron Gas Station where bikes are for rent. For only P25.00 for an hour, you can go visit some places in Basco. They went biking to the plaza where some food stalls and souvenir shops can be found.

They also tried Phil’s Brew Cafe. They offer sweets and coffee of course. MUST TRY!-

This was their DIY/Tipid Tour in Batanes. They suggest you visit Batanes for a week because they were not able to visit Itbayat Island which is approx. 3-4 hours away from Basco. Considering the pricey airfare, if you are already there, stay for a week.

For goodies, you can purchase Ube Halaya for P100 per container, P35-P45 for Camote chips, Prices ranging from 25-100 for bukayo (different sizes), P30-P250 for souvenirs.

If you are a nature lover, go and experience the relaxing view and places in Batanes. They actually have the internet everywhere, but right after Bagyong Ferdie, most places had a problem with the internet connection. There are some areas which do not have any signal as well. They don’t suggest kids, especially toddlers because it requires you to a lot of walking, hiking, and trekking. They will not enjoy it yet.

Batanes is a very clean province. There are only 3-4 tourists who were smoking. People are all kind and not boastful. They smile a lot. They are all fair and they all follow the standard rates in everything. You won’t see any street children. Everybody works. So they are all busy and earning. Life in Batanes is very simple. It felt like as if they lived back where technology wasn’t a big deal yet.

Make sure to have water with you all the time. It’s really hot.

PS: make sure to have a perky, active and funny buddy with you. 😊👍🏻
So, para sa mga nagtatanong – I hope this one helps!

Should you have concerns – Is there anything else that you need? I think I have written everything here already.

Friends.. Meaningless

©2016 TheAnonymousWritersNotebook

“I love him”… The last words I heard from her.

While she kept on telling me that she loves him, hearing all our friends shouting and making her understand that she’s not supposed to be loving that kind of person and that she has to leave him. I stood up in the crowd and spoke gently. “Yes, we love our friend and we care for her. Yes, it is our responsibility to make her understand that this guy is stupid and that she needs to break up with him. Yes, we should and must look after each other once in a while. We are her friends, yes. But we also have to consider that we are just her friends. We can never decide for her. Everything that we say, enters the left ear, passes through the mind and leaves on the right ear. If her heart is telling her to stay, her mind can never instruct or command her body to do otherwise, only because the heart is more powerful than her mind. We can never tell someone to leave the person who gives her pain especially if that person is the same person who gives her happiness. All we can do is listen and support.” And then I looked at her, “You got 10 people, 9 telling you to leave and 1 person, as I may stand to that, who will not ask you to leave him, but instead I’m telling you to SAVE SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF, DEAR. You are beautiful in and out. You have given him your 99%, save at least 1 for yourself. By the time, you get to understand that your life is more MEANINGFUL, and you get to love yourself more, that’s the time you’d get the point of having a MEANINGLESS commitment with someone you do not deserve. Let your heart decide.

ACCEPTANCE (Daily Post Challenge) MARCH ISSUE (The featured article of the month) The Dancing Baker

©2016 TheAnonymousWritersNotebook

“I’m gonna pursue my dream and I’m gonna get it step by step. Maybe little by little but atleast I know where I am going. This is the path that I chose and I know it is not too late. I’m gonna get over this quarterlife crisis really soon”

                                                                                             -Pau Cabrega-

Who would’ve have thought at an early age, this young beautiful woman has already experienced a lot in life? Fell in love twice, got hurt, stumbled, got wounded, broke her heart three times, cried many times, became a failure once and so. But what made her really strong was when she stood up and told herself that she can make it!

This is Pauline. Peers call her Pau. She is from the Philippines. Grew up in a wealthy, loving family, Pau, as the eldest, never felt the pressure from her very supportive parents. She grew up enjoying the adventures of life.

Having her own car, traveling abroad, learning the art of baking, joined and won in a pageant, gave a shot at a dancing club representing her country all over the world and alike.

Everyone thinks she is living the life of a perfect daughter. But she is just a human. She gets hurt, she tumbles down and she cries at every single moment of heartaches. She was once a failure herself. Got hurt by several men who were so stupid for not seeing the best in her. Until one day, she woke up, opened her eyes slowly, looked at the ceiling and whispered… “I can do this!”

She got up, picked her broken self together and showed people that she can be better than what she was yesterday.

And now, she is the manager of the family business located in Pagsanjan Laguna, Calle Arco.

Which is the most visited restaurant of celebrities in the Philippines and foreign countries.

Bakes sweets and pastries, learning the art of everyday life and has already found the love of her life, who happened to be a chef as well.

You see, when you commit mistakes, you get hurt, you see yourself down and in trouble, you don’t end everything there. You must get up, and accept that life doesn’t stop there. Nobody is perfect and we don’t just learn everything by reading, we also learn things by experience.

Acceptance, Learning, and Execution are some of the things that we should consider in life to get us going.

This is Pauline Cabrega, a beauty queen, a chef, a baker, a manager, a dancer and a wonderful person in and out.
